C-21 | Intravascular Lithotripsy in Non-Coronary Artery Lesions: A Systematic Review of Cases

Intravascular lithotripsy (IVL) has emerged as a game-changer for treating complex and severely calcified lesions. There have been increasing cases of IVL usage in different clinical scenarios. Therefore, we reviewed the literature to assess current use non-coronary artery PubMed Embase were accessed case reports series on peripheral disease, excluding conference abstracts. We then calculated mean proportions variables interest. found 33 or describing 60 IVLs. The age patients was 73.7 (SD 10.9). majority severe iliofemoral stenosis (51.6%), followed by carotid, subclavian, innominate (26.7% combined). also reported mesenteric vessel stenosis, including celiac superior (9.4%). Additionally, successfully used renal (7.8%) aortic (4.7%) stenosis. Complications 12% cases, acute blindness post-carotid that treated with tissue plasminogen activator (TPA). facilitate broad array procedures catheterization laboratory, challenging lesions aorta, renal, mesenteric, vessels.
